On the birth anniversary of Mahatam Gandhi (2nd October), Alumni Association of Jamia Millia Islamia, Bihar Chapter organised a talk on “The Idea of Jamia and Gandhi” followed by an Alumni online meet as well as physical meet in Delhi. Many distinguished alumni participated in this meet. Dr. Shahid Siddiqui, Mr. Aftab Mohammad, Mr. Ershad Ahmad, Janab Parwez Alam, Mr. Naiyer Azam, Dr. Mohd Tahseen Zaman, and others were present at this meet.
Guest speaker Dr. Arvind Kumar enthralled the audience with his superb Gandhian thoughts and Jamia’s revolutionary culture. He elaborated the “The Idea of Jamia and Gandhi”.
Senior alumni Mr. Aftab Mohammad (UNICEF) who was present as a speaker, guides all the alumni with his motivational speech. He focused on five C’s. (Connect, communicate, collaborate, contribution, etc.) Dr. Shahid Siddiqui was presiding over the meet. In his presiding remarks, Janab Dr. Shahid Siddiqui lauded the works and efforts of the AAJMI Bihar Chapter. He also promised to provide the paid version of Zoom meetings for further online meetings.
The program was moderated by Mr. Monazir Alam. Dr. Mosharraf Alam presented the welcome speech and the objectives of the alumni meet. The Program started at 03:30 pm and ended at 5:45 pm with the self-introduction followed by a formal vote of thanks by Mr. Ershad Ahmad. Lawyer Safder Ali, Secretary AAJMI BIHAR managed the online meet and was presenting the context of the meeting.
Some key points of the meet and the future actions:
1. To provide social services to the community, with special reference to Bihar.
2. Networking between the alumni.
3. To make contacts with university administration.
4. To organise the seminars.
5. To organise coaching for competitive exams.
6. To construct alumni building in Bihar.
